There is a forum available for everyone to chat and post interesting news and information. Just register with the site and then you are good to go to send messages to other members, post rides you want to do, or any other information you wish to share.

There is also a calendar with information about our club races and other happenings around the place. Feel free to add any details of races you wish to share with other members that may not be included in the calendar yet.

The more info that is added and shared, the more interesting the site will be to visit.

We won't be using the blog spot anymore to update information - please now use the web site.

Sat 27th Ride

The ride this Saturday has been cancelled due to the running of the MONT 24hr MTB race at Sparrow Hill. Most of the MUD committee will be competing in various teams.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience, but we will be having a ride the following Saturday, the Easter weekend, so hope to see you then.

MUD XC Race 1

The first MUD XC race will be held on Sun 14th March at the Tabourie Track.

Format: 2 hr blind pairs team event. You will be paired up with another rider, this is totally random. You may get a chance to ride with an A-grade rider, or a novice.

Registration: starts at 8am

Race start: 9.30

How to get there: Turn onto Lemon Tree Creek Road at Tabourie. Follow dirt road up and follow signs to the Backhouse property, drive in and you will see a big grass opening where transition will be.

Sat morning rides

Hi everyone,

We now have a roster set up so at least one person will be present to ride on Sat morning.

So let's build up these Sat morning rides and get a really good bike culture going.

Sunday MUD Social Ride

Meet at Lions Park, Burrill Lake at 8am, head up to Boyne Trig and return, approx. 60km.

Saturday 5th Dec

In view of the MUD Xmas party on Saturday afternoon, there will be no organised club ride Saturday morning this week.

Hope to see as many people as we can at the Tabourie track, it is alot of fun.

MUD Social Day Dec 13

The calendar has posted the next social day as being down in Mogo.

But recently SCUM have published details for a 30km or 60km enduro ride on the 13th Dec, and after quite a bit of chatter, we have decided to postpone the Mogo trip to next year sometime.

Hope to see a few MUD representatives in Nowra for the SCUM race.

3rd Event in the 2hr enduro format series

Well it was a scant turn out for our 3rd race event in our 2hr enduro series, we decided to change the format to a solo event over 1 hour. This resulted in a very challenging course for the 6 members who did brave the darkish clouds for a hit out.

Last Race of Series and Chrissy BBQ

Saturday 5th of December is our last 2hr team enduro race. Racing starts at 3.00pm, rego from 2.00pm then a BBQ and drinks after (soft drinks will be there available to purchase but bring your own everything else meat etc, we have a good barbie there.)
Venue is at Rolands place on Lemontree Creek Rd, Tabourie if you need directions just contact one of the committee to the side of the page. Cost $5 for full members. There also will be an escorted ride around the course for beginners and those who wish not to race to learn the course.

Sunday MUD Social Ride

Join Bart for a med-fast ride down at Durras, approx 30km.

Meet at the Kiola Caravan Park ready to leave at 9am on Sunday 1st Nov.

Remember to bring something to eat and plenty of water.

National Ride to Work Day

Come show your support for cycling and socialise with other cyclists and join us for egg and bacon rolls at Rotary Park.

The Rotary Group have volunteered to put on BBQ breakfast at a small cost from 7.30 am.

So celebrate Ride to Work Day on Wed 14th October and ride to Rotary Park.

New Race Format

Welcome to the MUD Training series, starting on Sunday 20th Sept. We will run with this format to the end of the year, so will be 4 in all.

The format will be a 2 hour event in a team of 2, but you won't know your training/riding partner until the day when you register. This way you can give it all you've got for your lap, then rest it out while your partner goes for their lap. The next month, you will have a different partner. Points will be allocated to finishing positions with a presentation at the Xmas party.

This format will enable everyone to get to know others in the club, and hopefully be a bit of fun. You don't know who you will be paired up with, it could be one of the mad down hillers, or one of the MUD foxes.

Come and check it out, have a go.

Registration will start from 8am, with race start at 9am.

Hi MUD!

It's that time of year, can you believe we have survived our first year? Not an easy task to set up a club and could not have been done with out your help.Thankfully the hard work should lighten a little this year but still heaps of rewarding challenges ahead.

I emailed all members the Committee Nomination form for this years AGM. The details for the AGM are as follows:

The AGM will be held at 11.30am, Sunday 20th of September, 2009 at Tabourie trail
(straight after the MUD race + bring snags etc for a BBQ after!)

If you would like to take a turn to be part of this well oiled machine, now is ya chance. If you would like a bit more say or would just like to help in any way,stick ya neck out and get out of ya comfort zone! The committee have worked hard this year and need some new blood and muscle to take us into 2010 and beyond. A few more hands would help spread the load and keep the core determined.

MUD FOX SUCCESS

Sunday 9^th August saw the inaugural Pleasure and Pain Enduro Mountain Bike race at Coffs Harbour on the NSW north coast. Local mountain bikers Shannon Weeks, Pam Carter, Louise Hamilton and Rachel Tokley competed in the 50km event.

The course consisted of a majority of the sweetest single track and a blend of double/fire trail totalling 25km of mountain bike Nirvana. Bridge crossings, log rolls, jumps, hand crafted lines were a challenge for all riders. The large field included current world 24 hour mtb champion Jason English, Rockstar racing team and plenty of enthusiastic weekend warriors.

The MUD Foxes rode hard and all came home with cash and prizes for their efforts.

In a clean sweep Shannon Weeks not only won her age category but came first overall in the Womens 50K with a time of 3:10:18. Pam Carter stepped onto the winner’s podium in 2nd place for her age group with a time of 3:18:14 and 4^th overall in the womens 50km. Louise Hamilton also won her age division coming in with a time of 3:41:43 and came 5^th overall. Rachel Tokley completed 25km in 1:45:26 before retiring.

The results were outstanding for the girls this being their first 50km race. They have only taken up riding in the last twelve months and have been training hard and having loads of fun out on the trails. Call into Mountain Cycles for details of how to join the local MUD MTB club and join the girls and the guys for a ride in the dirt.

SCOTT 24hr MTB Race

The entries are open for the Scott 24hr race at Stromlo Forest in October. In previous years Ulladulla have had a great representation at this race, and this year we aim to have a MUD Mountainbikers contingent present.

If anyone is looking at joining a team and/or need more information regarding the race, please contact Jason Colusso (details are on blog site), or enquire at Mountain Cycles.

Let's see how many "MUD" names we can come up with this year.

Sunday Club Race

This Sunday, the club is offering another race format for all members (you can sign up for a day licence and become a member for a day).

The format will be a 3 lap race of the larger track out at the Tabourie Track (Backhouse property). We will be starting the race at 9am, with registration open from 8.30. The price will be a very cheap $5, so come have a go, check out this new track the guys have been working hard on and have some fun.

Stay tuned for a new race format for the next couple of races covering the rest of the year, will let you know details next week.
